Café Gráfico- Academia de cine de Madrid
COMING SOON!
On the 18th November in Madrid I led a drawings and creativity workshop called: ``Cigarettes, cars and roads´´
In the workshop we will explore these themes and see how much influence have in different movies. Why do roads feature so prominently in David Lynch’s films? What is he trying to convey through them? Furthermore, many of the characters are constantly shown smoking—were they always the villains? What symbolism does tobacco hold in Lynch’s cinema, or, for instance, in the films of Jean-Luc Godard?
During the session, we are going to work with drawing and collage techniques, from these iconic elements of film history. We will also examine the importance of cinematic shots in storytelling—whether in drawing or comics—we explored these themes through the work of filmmakers like Jean-Luc Godard and David Lynch.
